About This Home

  • High Physical Support SDA
  • Three Participant Suites + OOA
  • Two Living Areas

High Physical Support Living in Huntly

  • 19 Delawarr Parade is a single-storey home built for three participants to the High Physical Support design category.
  • Each participant has their own bedroom with a robe and a private ensuite. A separate OOA room with its own ensuite gives support staff a place to stay overnight, apart from the participant bedrooms.
  • Step-free movement, wide circulation, accessible bathrooms, ceiling hoist provision, emergency power infrastructure and assistive technology readiness are built in.

Two Places to Spend the Day

  • The open living and dining area at the rear of the home sits alongside the kitchen, keeping cooking, meals and everyday life together.
  • A second lounge near the front gives residents another place to relax, watch television or see visitors, away from the busier main living area.
  • Dimmable lighting in the living areas and bedrooms lets each resident set the light to suit them.

A Private Suite for Every Participant

  • Each bedroom has its own ensuite and robe, and the bedrooms are spread across the home rather than grouped together, which gives each resident more separation.
  • There is room around each bed for a wheelchair and for support workers to assist, and every participant bedroom has structural and electrical provision for a ceiling hoist.
  • With an ensuite beside every bedroom, no one needs to share a participant bathroom.

The Kitchen

  • The kitchen opens onto the living and dining area, so participants can stay part of what is happening while food is prepared.
  • It includes an accessible benchtop area, height-adjustable benchtop provision, accessible cabinetry and tapware, a drawer-style dishwasher and wheelchair-friendly pantry access.
  • A separate laundry and built-in storage keep household equipment out of the living areas.

Overnight Support

  • The OOA room has its own ensuite and sits apart from the participant bedrooms, so staff can stay overnight without using any resident's space.

Getting In and Out

  • Step-free access runs from the front boundary to the entrance, and the double garage has internal access for arrivals by car.
  • Outdoor paths are designed for accessible gradients and slip resistance, and there is outdoor space around the home for residents to use.
