Necessity Housing

Our Partners

A home only works if everything around it does. We collaborate with builders, architects and industry professionals to create purpose-built homes, and work alongside SIL providers and government agencies to keep every one of them compliant and functional.

Who we work alongside

Four Relationships That Decide Whether a Move Works

Supported Independent Living Providers

The staff who actually deliver support day to day. The participant chooses them, not us.

What we do: coordinate on enrolment, rosters and site access, and provide an OOA room reached from the shared entry.

Support Coordinators

Usually the person holding the whole picture together while a participant looks for somewhere to live.

What we do: flag matching vacancies before they're listed, and send floor plans and enrolment documents on request.

Allied Health and OTs

The people who can say whether a home suits someone's functional needs.

What we do: work to your schedule for viewings and share plans early so an assessment isn't done from photographs.

Hospital Discharge Teams

Where the timeline is tightest and a delay has a real cost to the participant.

What we do: give a straight answer quickly on whether a home is realistic, including builds nearing completion.

Why we keep them separate

We Provide the Housing, Not the Support

We don't provide Supported Independent Living, and we don't ask participants to use a particular SIL provider to live in our homes.

When housing and support come from the same organisation, changing support providers can put someone's home at risk: a hard position for a participant, and an uncomfortable one for a coordinator to manage. Keeping the two apart removes that entirely.

What That Means in Practice

  • Participants keep whichever SIL provider they choose.
  • Changing SIL provider never puts the tenancy at risk.
  • We deal with the SIL provider directly so coordinators don't have to relay messages.
  • We'll say when a home won't suit, even if it costs us the vacancy.

Where our vacancies appear

Listed Publicly, but Coordinators Hear First

We start marketing a home once the build reaches frame stage. If you've told us about a participant who'd match, you hear before any of this goes live.
