Comfort Built for Independence
- 18 Jessup Street is a single-storey home for three participants, built to the High Physical Support design category.
- Each participant has their own bedroom with a private ensuite and wardrobe. A separate lounge sits alongside the open-plan family and meals area, so residents can choose between company and a quieter room.
- Step-free access, room for wheelchairs, ceiling hoist provisions and a dedicated OOA room with its own ensuite are built in.
Two Living Areas
- The kitchen, dining and main living spaces are connected, for meals, visitors and everyday household life.
- The separate lounge is a second place to watch television, see family or simply relax away from the main living area.
- With two living areas, three residents can follow different routines without getting in each other's way.
Bedrooms and Ensuites
- Each bedroom has a private ensuite and wardrobe storage, with room for a wheelchair and for assistance with daily activities.
- The bedrooms have structural and electrical provision for ceiling hoists to be installed later, to suit each resident's needs.
- With an ensuite for every participant, no one needs to share a bathroom.
The Kitchen
- The kitchen sits alongside the family and meals area, with accessible work surfaces, room to move, accessible cabinetry and controls within easy reach.
Overnight Support
- The OOA room sits near the separate lounge, away from the bedrooms, and has its own ensuite, so support staff never need to use a resident's bathroom.
Outside
- An outdoor terrace opens off the family area, with easy transitions between inside and out, and the front porch is sheltered.
